My research activities concern *continuous constraint satisfaction and optimization problems*. More precisely I am interested in:

*structural analysis and decomposition*- algorithms that analyze the structure of continuous constraint problems and decompose them into separate but inter-dependent subproblems;*adequate solving methods*- guaranteed satisfaction and optimization algorithms that exploit the specific structure of continuous constraint problems;*geometric constraints*- a class of continuous constraint problems whose variables are geometric entities (e.g., points, lines, planes) and whose constraints are geometric relations (e.g., distances, angles, tangencies), with applications in*computer-aided design*and*robotics*.
