My research activities concern continuous constraint satisfaction and optimization problems. More precisely I am interested in:
- structural analysis and decomposition - algorithms that analyze the structure of continuous constraint problems and decompose them into separate but inter-dependent subproblems;
- adequate solving methods - guaranteed satisfaction and optimization algorithms that exploit the specific structure of continuous constraint problems;
- geometric constraints - a class of continuous constraint problems whose variables are geometric entities (e.g., points, lines, planes) and whose constraints are geometric relations (e.g., distances, angles, tangencies), with applications in computer-aided design and robotics.
